“This person’s stated purpose is to serve both his fellow man and his fellow REALTOR®,” said 2006 REALTOR® of the Year Larry Duncan as he introduced 2007 winner Ed Hardey. Hardey’s family surprised him as he received the REALTOR® of the Year honor at the Inaugural Sept. 6. Hardey’s acceptance speech was brief, but his list of accomplishments is long. Since being licensed in 1992, he has served on the Board of Directors, the Professional Standards Grievance Committee, and the Metrolist Board of Directors. He is currently chairman of the Metrolist Rules & Regulations Committee. Hardey also finds time to better his community and the world, donating time and resources to Craig Rehabilitation Hospital, a
hurricane-damaged library in Mexico, the Children’s Miracle Network and more. He has been in the Top Five in sales production since joining RE/MAX 3000. |

"Wow, you’re not prepared for something like this.” said Beau LaPoint, accepting his award as Affiliate of the Year. “This award is really on behalf of
all the Affiliates. There is so much work that they do.” LaPoint has chaired the Affiliate Committee for the past two years, leading the group in projects to help provide additional services for REALTORS® and the community. According to co-workers, he does everything with an intense sense of purpose, always keeping a positive attitude, seeking solutions to ensure high performance, loving his job and sharing his knowledge and skills unselfishly. LaPoint said that he wants everyone to “carry it forward and pay it forward,” doing good for their fellow colleagues.
