Rep. Nancy Spence was among a number of state and local governmental officials who attended the Annual PSF/RSDC Gala. Also there were Arapahoe County Commissioner Lynn Myers, Sen. Bruce Cairns (SD41), and Rep. Suzanne Williams (HD 41).

Brian Erickson, Homestead Properties; Rob Knepshield, BK Property Inspections; and Sandy Kauffman, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, monitor the silent auction at the PSF Gala April 16. Each AAR member gave many hours to ensure the success of the event.

Ron Gilley, Cherry Creek East, and Bill Bakke, Bakke Appraisal Service, chat in front of many silent auction items at the PSF/RSDC Gala April 16. Gilley was on the committee that organized the event; Bakke donated a lovely framed photo for the auction.

PSF/RSDC Gala brings in near record contributions

The Aurora Association of REALTORS® is almost half way to its Political Survival Fund (PSF) goal after a very successful PSF/RSDC Gala and Silent Auction In April.

Silent auction success
AAR members participating in the Gala and Silent Auction, together with many other contributors, raised nearly $10,000. This is a great start towards reaching AAR's goal of $21,900.

This year, silent auction items brought in record dollar figures as attendees bid for great donated items, with each and every penny going toward the PSF goal. Attendees bid on items for the home or office, and for sports enthusiasts, gourmets, collectors, jet setters, and those who just like to relax on the patio.

PSF – a fund for the future
PSF/RSDC is an investment in the future of the real estate industry. It consists of donated money from REALTOR® members interested in protecting the free enterprise system and the right to own and transfer real property. PSF/RSDC dollars enable local, state and national REALTOR® Associations to have a political voice to protect the rights of those in the industry. Through the Political Survival Fund, individuals in the real estate industry are able to multiply their individual political effectiveness to make their collective voice a resounding one when it comes to issues. Through the RSDC, donors can make their voices heard in financial support of individual candidates.

The honorable attendees
Governmental figures from state and local levels made appearances at the event. United States Representative Bob Beauprez addressed REALTOR® sensitive issues as the evening's featured speaker. Also in attendance were Bruce Cairns (SD41), Nancy Spence (HD 39), and Suzanne Williams (HD 41). Arapahoe County Commissioner Lynn Myers, who is a longtime AAR member, came with her checkbook hand to make her contribution.

The Aurora City Council was also well-represented, with Kathy Green and Brad Pierce attending. CAR Governmental Affairs Director Betsy Scully and CAR Political Affairs Coordinator Selena Armstrong represented the state association. Political hopefuls E.C. Gaffney, Brenda Gallager, Al Jacobson, Scott Laudenslager, Fred Mould, Nancy Todd and Jim Parker also participated in the event.

Congratulations and thank yous
Featured speakers and auction items only get the campaign so far. It's AAR's great group of volunteers, under the able leadership of Eric Neel, Re/Max Alliance, who made the event something special. Volunteers included: Linda Philpott, Lyn Johnson, Don DiFiore, Ron Gilley, Jason Brockman, Rob Knepshield, Ann Abraham, Linda Jones, Dick Stephenson, Lance Holtman and Ryan Urbach. A special thank you to Hollie Casto (Homestead Properties), Francie Floyd (Eric Neel's significant other), and Doug Jones (Linda's husband) for pitching in for the event.

Make your move
The exciting Kickoff event may be over, but it created the momentum which continues to move forward, thanks to PSF/RSDC donations made by individuals. If you would like to contribute to PSF/RSDC, please contact the Association office at (303) 369-5549, or fill out the contribution form and send it to AAR at the address provided.
