Privacy and Security Policy
The Aurora Association of Realtors® recognizes the importance of protecting personal information you provide. We maintain the following privacy policy:
1. We gather the following types of information needed to process your transactions, fulfill your requests and maintain our membership records.
• Contact information you provide (for example , your personal and business addresses, phone and fax numbers, firm affiliations and titles, e-mail addresses, license, appraiser, or mortgage broker certification number.
• Information you volunteer, via applications or surveys (for example education, designations, specialties, affiliations with other real estate organizations, language proficiencies, political affiliation, hobbies, special interests).
2. We use this information to:
• Improve and customize the content and layout or our website and other communication tools such as Aurora Outlook, and e-mail blasts.
• Notify you of relevant products and services
• Notify you of upcoming events and programs
• Assist state and National Realtor® associations and affiliated Institutes, Societies and Councils and Realtor® Rally in membership and event tracking
3. AAR does not sell, distribute nor provide email addresses to members, outside parties or affinity partners. We do provide e-mail addresses for the registration database for Realtor® Rally and to vendors that assist us with on-line voting and surveys. E-mail addresses are primarily used by AAR to contact members.
4. We will not share, sell or otherwise provide other information about you to third parties, except for:
• Membership Rosters including names, addresses, and phone numbers of firms with a list of members of that firm to Affiliate Members and to Realtor® members and others who wish to contact members via office phone numbers or addresses. Membership rosters are sold in paper format (they are not provided electronically). Mailing labels are also available for purchase.
• An alphabetical membership roster (including names and phone numbers is listed on AAR’s website.)
5. Credit information that you and credit authorizers provide when you make payments by credit card for products, dues or other services will only be used to process the transactions you request. This information will be provided to and maintained by reputable credit reporting databases, but will never be sold, shared or provided to other third parties.
6. We maintain security procedures and standards which we believe are as safe as today’s technology permits. We test these procedures and modify them regularly as new technologies become feasible.
7. We utilize a strict Opt-Out policy for sending online notifications regarding services, products and programs. Members are requested to respond to Hilda@aaor.org to request an Opt-Out from different types of online notifications.
8. Membership records are maintained in a secure data base and in individual files. Association records are maintained according to a records retention schedule as approved by legal counsel. Records are shredded when they exceed the required years to retain.
9. You may edit your personal contact information directly in the NRDS system or you may contact the Association office at 303-369-5549 to request changes.
