CARHOF Update

Debbie Long, AE Loveland/Berthoud Association, and Janet Franz, Chaffee County Board President-elect, who had the most CARHOF "Bling" at the annual CARHOF Volunteer Orientation. Thank you to everyone who attended.
CARHOF has decided to discontinue the promotion of the Colorado Cares
program. Unfortunately, we were unable to come up with a satisfactory working plan with the new organization Ameridream and the program has stalled.
CARHOF has removed information about the program from CAR's and CARHOF's
websites. Ameridream will
continue to promote their brand in Colorado, and CARHOF takes no
position for or against using their product.
Since we began promoting Colorado Cares in January 2003, CARHOF
collected a total of $200,000 in donations (with only $26,000 donated in
2005). These donations greatly helped CARHOF make up for lost revenue
from low interest rates. Additionally, the Colorado Cares program
changed the gift fund industry by lowering the cost to consumers, so we
feel it was a very worthwhile project for CARHOF. A big thanks to Don
Di Fiore for bringing the program to Colorado.
CARHOF is pursuing other avenues to create donations, so if you have any
ideas, please let us know.
Don't forget about the title company campaign!
CARHOF has the
opportunity to dramatically increase revenue from interest on escrowed
funds, and it doesn't cost the broker a dime. Plus, the title companies
want to participate and only need direction from the broker.

Download the new Master Letter (it's a Microsoft Word document). Right click, then choose "Save Target As..."
I've attached a new master letter. The broker can address the letter to
any or all title companies their agents use, and if the broker prefers
to send the form to me, I will forward it to the designated title
companies. A list of CARHOF participants is available on our website at
www.carhof.org.
Currently, Land Title, Security Title, United Title, Chicago Title,
Transnation Title, Commonwealth Title, and Lawyer's Title have agreed to
accept master letters. Bob Brown is setting up a meeting with the
Regional President of Stewart Title, and he will keep meeting with title
companies one by one.
Let me know if you have questions!
