AAR proudly announces the election of new NAR Directors

The Aurora Association of REALTORS® is represented by two National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Directors of the Board after elections in June.
Bob Brown, RE/MAX 3000, Inc., holds a three-year term and Linda Philpott, Westwind Realty, Inc., holds a one-year term. The two new directors were elected by Directors of the Board of the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) at the CAR Summer Conference in Vail.
Brown and Philpott competed against seven other well-qualified candidates for this prestigious position. Three representatives were elected for three-year terms on the NAR directorate and one representative was elected for a one-year term. Other individuals elected include Bruce Wolf of SMDRA and Kit Cowperthwaite of DBR. AAR is proud to have two directors voting at the national level representing Colorado.
Brown is a longtime member and past president of both AAR (1986) and CAR (2004). He has continued his involvement at local, state and national levels of the REALTOR® Association, most recently as the 2007 chairman of the CAR Public Relations Committee and the CREC Interprofessional Committee and as the vice chairman of the Membership Policy and Board Jurisdictions Committee for NAR. Next year, he will take over that group as chairman.
Brown’s leadership interests have run toward education, communication, CARHOF, membership issues and strategic planning. One of his passions is to enlighten the public on the value of using a REALTOR® in all real estate transactions.
Philpott was president of the Aurora Association of REALTORS® in 2001 and a member of its Board of Directors from 1996-2001. She has worked on and/or chaired numerous AAR committees, including the Government Affairs, Bylaws, City Council Dinner, Masters Club, Marketing Task Force, REALTOR®-Builder, Strategic Planning, Metrolist Policy and Nominating committees. She is a CAR director and was vice president of the CAR Government Affairs Division from 2001-2003.
At the national level, Philpott was a NAR director and a member of the Communications Committee in 2006 and 2007. She was also a federal political coordinator for Reps. Tom Tancredo and Bob Beauprez.
