The REALTOR® Political Survival Fund is your best investment in real estate

AAR hosts successful PSF Kick-Off ~ now it’s time to do your fair share

The only political party present at the Aurora Association of REALTORS® PSF Kick-Off Breakfast in April was the REALTOR® Party.

Regardless of their political affiliation – democrat, republican; libertarian or independent – members of the Association came together to celebrate their ties to the real estate industry and the profound effect that the Political Survival Fund has on its place in the political arena.

Pancakes and politics
As is tradition, a hearty pancake breakfast served by the Association’s Affiliate members got the event off to the right start.

Keynote speaker Kevin Hougen, President of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, kept the positive spirit going with an optimistic message about the metro area’s economic outlook.

Hougen encouraged AAR members to become actively involved in advocacy regarding real estate issues. Each of the five referenda that will likely be on the November ballot will impact the real estate community, Hougen said. More than ever, it’s important that those in the industry do what they can to secure real estate-friendly outcomes.

Investment and impact
That’s where contributing to the Political Survival Fund (PSF) comes in.

Contributions to PSF go toward the protection of private property rights through support or opposition of candidates and issues affecting the real estate industry. PSF is non-partisan, supporting REALTOR® issues above all else.

The Association hopes to reach its goal of contributing $27,100 to the PSF. After the April Kick-Off, AAR is well on its way. To date, contributions totaling $7,879 have been collected with AAR dues for PSF and RSDC. Members at the Kick-Off Breakfast contributed another $6,137, and AAR PSF Chairman Adam Malachi pledged another $4,000. That contribution will make Malachi, Gateway Realty Services, the Association’s first-ever Golden “R” contributor.

Your fair share
But your contribution doesn’t have to reach Golden “R” levels to make a difference. Each and every donation has a positive impact – in fact, if each AAR member were to make a fair share contribution of just $25, the Association would surpass its goal with ease.

After all, that’s what PSF is all about – a collective voice representing the viewpoints of thousands of REALTORS®, a single, unified voice for real estate in all levels of government.
