APS gets grant to close gap for English language learners
The Aurora Public Schools will use a $378,000 grant to improve learning for second language students.
The grant from the Rose Community Foundation will be used to provide professional development opportunities for staff, increase parent involvement for English language learners, and close the learning gap for second language students.
APS students come from more than 100 countries and speak 90 languages. More than a third of the district students speak English as a second language.
APS invites you to town hall meetings
The APS Board of Education and Superintendent John L. Barry invite you to share your views on the school district at upcoming town hall meetings. Dates include:

• Tues., April 22, 6:30 p.m. at Mrachek Middle School
