Spring blizzard doesn’t dampen enthusiasm at AAR’s April PSF Kick-Off
Just hours before the Aurora Association of REALTORS® PSF Kick-Off Breakfast and Fashion Show, organizers wondered whether the event would even happen – Mother Nature had her mind set on an April blizzard.
But AAR members proved that supporting a good cause was worth a trip out into piles of snow, showing up in hearty numbers to hear CAR’s Government Affairs Division Vice President Jack Fox speak about political issues affecting the industry and to see their fellow professionals decked out in the latest styles for a PSF Fashion Show.
Per tradition, organizers served a scrumptious breakfast. High on the agenda was the presentation by Fox, who touched on the many issues that PSF dollars help to affect, including banks in real estate, mortgage interest deductions and many state and local regulations.
Also at the event, several members were honored for their dedication to supporting the Fund. Adam Malachi received the CAR Lifetime PSF Award for donating at least $10,000 to the cause; Larry Clarke, David DeElena and Kevin Risen were honored as Sterling Rs.
Fun with fashion
Serious talk soon turned to fun as AAR REALTOR® and Affiliate members modeled the latest spring fashions supplied by Marilynn Zuponcic from Coldwater Creek and Alan Smith from the Men’s Warehouse, both in the Southlands. And a few members wore their own “unique” fashions, including Ron Talpers, Larry Beer, David Barber and Jeff Henke, who attended dressed as “Hilda, the Later Years.” Each of the enthusiastic models proved that it’s always fashionable to be involved.
Your fair share
The approximately $4,000 raised at the breakfast brought AAR’s total PSF donations to $8,956 for the year. The Association’s goal is a very attainable $18,950 – easy to reach if every member simply contributes a “fair share” amount of at least $25.
You can make a one time donation or have a certain amount taken out monthly – whatever your choice, your PSF dollars support a very serious purpose. You are helping protect private property rights and supporting or
opposing candidates and issues affecting your bottom line.

Although supporting PSF is a serious issue, the PSF Kick-Off included plenty of fun,
including a Fashion Show featuring AAR REALTOR® and Affiliate members.

PSF Chairwoman Sunny Banka recognizes Adam Malachi as he received a
lifetime achievement award from CAR for donating at least $10,000 to PSF.

David Barber and Jeff Henke supported the Fashion Show by attending in their own unique ensembles.

The Colorado Association of REALTORS® supported AAR’s PSF Kick-Off efforts, sending Government Affairs Managers Wes Parham and Ted Leighty to the event April 17.
