 AAR’s second blood drive nets 24 units for Bonfils

With only two-and-a-half weeks of planning time, the Aurora Association of REALTORS® held its second blood drive in 2010 to benefit the Bonfils Blood Center.
The outcome was very successful after REALTOR® members and Affiliates helped to get the word out, even to non-AAR folks. There were 24 units of blood given out of 26 or 27 people who actually came prepared to give. Contrary to common sense, the people who were unable to give were REALTORS® who were disqualified because their blood pressure was too low – in this market?!?!
Most who donated were scheduled, four were walk-ins. We want to give special recognition to Bill Rapp, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, and Jim Parker, Cherry Creek Properties, who were recognized by Bonfils and awarded pins for their level of donation. Rapp has given eight gallons to Bonfils; Parker has given two gallons (see pictures).
Many thanks to everyone who gave blood and who helped organize this important event. Special thanks to Desiree Banka, North American Title Company, who spent most of her day at the Association working to make the blood drive go smoothly.
 A Bonfils representative gives a pin to Jim Parker. Parker has donated a total of two gallons of life-saving blood to Bonfils. He was one of many who gave blood at AAR’s second blood drive in 2010, held last month in the AAR parking lot.
