AAR team wins Copper Bottom Chef contest
By day, they're AAR Affiliates and REALTORS®. But on at least one night, they were teams of amateur chefs who entered and won the first-ever SMDRA/AAR Copper Bottom Chef contest. Incorporating the secret ingredient, coffee, into their recipes, teams from AAR made coffee-rubbed New York strip and spicy shrimp served with coconut rice, coffee-infused teriyaki sauce, coffee-marinated duck and other tasty dishes.
Mark Kinslow, Ryan Urbach and Lynne Quint won first prize; the People's Choice award went to Sandy Plaven's and Piper Bruner's team. Recognized as a runner up, Desiree Banka's team.
The event, based on the Food Network program Iron Chef, was a fun way for SMDRA and AAR members to interact and network. The winning group took home a traveling trophy.
